Polyclonal antibodies are the antibodies of choice when you need inexpensive and fast produced high affinity antibodies. Your polyclonal antibodies recognize multiple epitopes of your antigen, which can lead to a better detection in some applications. Multiple antibodies are able to bind your protein at different epitopes which leads to a signal amplification. This usually leads to better results in immunoprecipitation (IP) and chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP).
For the antibody production nearly any kind of antigen can be used. Usually proteins, peptides, SDS-Gel pieces, DNA, cells or small molecules are used for polyclonal or monoclonal antibodies.
When you have purified protein available, the native protein can be used as antigen. When the purification of the protein is difficult or when the purified protein shows multiple bands in a SDS-gel you can use our SDS-Gel Extraction service (Cat.No.A703). Here you cut your protein specific gel band from your gel and we extract the protein from it.
For proteins you only know the sequence from you can use our Peptide Antibody Service (P101). This service includes a peptide prediction to see, which peptides represent your protein in the best way. Our scientist with the help of our analytical program predict the antigenicity, solubility and epitopes of the peptides. We synthesize and conjugate the peptides to a carrier to improve the antigenicity.

We start with the immunizations as soon as your antigen arrives or as soon as we finished the synthesis or preparation of your antigen. We offer the immunization of different species for your special needs. Most common are “New Zealand White Rabbits” for the production of your polyclonal antibodies. In addition we offer the immunization of chicken, mice, rats or guinea pigs. We are able to immunize one or multiple animals, depending how many antibodies are needed. Please ask for your special offer for a large number of animals.
We have different protocols for the needs of our customers. Our standard 63-day protocol fits to most applications. For customers who need their antibodies faster we offer our SuperFast procedure, which takes 28-days. Here we use a superior adjuvant and a proprietary immunization schedule.

We recommend purifications when you need specific antibodies especially for applications like ImmunoHistoChemistry (IHC), WesternBlot (WB), ImmunoPrecipitation (IP), Chromatin ImmunopreciPitation (ChIP) or Fluorescent Activated Cell Sorting (FACS).
