Antibody Production in Germany, Europe

Davids Logo

Mouse, Rat and Guinea pig antibody production

The animals are housed in our own animal department in Germany (Europe). This guarantees that antibody manufacturing is both animal-friendly and cost-effective. Individual monitoring of each animal and titer progression on a regular basis assures high quality antibodies with optimal titers. For antibody production, BALB/c mice and black hooded rats are used as a standard. Other strains are available on demand. Guinea pig vaccination is provided to enhance our rodent expertise. Rats and guinea pigs have the benefit of producing a bigger volume of antiserum from a single animal.

Antigen Requirements

To achieve the best results, it is advised that numerous mice, rats, or guinea pigs be immunized with various antigen concentrations. The table below shows the average antigen quantity required for vaccination of one animal. The quantity of antigen may change depending on the type of antigen used. Davids has already successfully produced antibodies using a tiny amount of the required antigen. Please email us at info@davids-bio.com if you have less antigen. Click on the selected antigen for more details.

Immunization Schedules for Small Rodents

Our well-established 63-day vaccination strategy delivers the best results in terms of titer development and antigen affinity for the majority of antigens. We can follow your specific immunization protocols or immunization strategies for your special requirements. There are options for extended immunization schedules, extra vaccinations, further test bleeds, and specific immunization techniques. For large projects including a significant number of mice, rats, or guinea pigs, please contact us at info@davids-bio.com for a special discount.

Antisera Purification

We provide various purification services for mouse, rat, and guinea pig polyclonal antisera. To increase yield, we propose pooling antisera from individual mice before purification. Separate purifications from each antisera are also available.
There are affinity purifications for specific antibodies and ProteinA purifications to get a pure IgG fraction, as well as depletions to remove undesired antibodies that identify tags.
